My opinion regarding this is elaborated both in words and few diagrams.

As a start, design solely relies on the appearance of the space and it is the first thing that would catch the user’s attention. However, as time goes by, spent in the particular space, any user could experience a discomfort or rattling feeling if such space is not designed with the principles and rules of design being applied. Hence, when all design principles are exerted, it could create high efficiency, technicality and even functionally in the design.

When it comes to designing an interior there are a few points on how I view an effectively designed space.

  • Efficiency is much more important than the visual or the appearance of the final design outcome. Despite a space required to look aesthetically pleasing to the user, it is important to make sure that the interior is being used to its maximum potential for any user to make good use of it and be around comfortably.

  • Every physical outcome (material selection, furniture, arrangement, etc.) requires to follow each of all design principles or rules to balance out the requirement of the final outcome in terms of both technicality and design.

  • Weak design elements and even the systems both functionality and arrangement possibly could create flaws even in an interior is a design of a high quality.
